Granite Quarry Collapse Andhra Pradesh: A Day That Shook Bapatla
On August 3, 2025, a devastating granite quarry collapse in Andhra Pradesh led to the death of six workers and left ten others injured. The incident occurred at Satyakrishna Granite Quarry, Ballikurava, in the Bapatla district. A massive rockslide trapped 16 workers under the debris during routine operations.

Rescue and Medical Response
Rescue operations began immediately, with teams managing to recover four bodies initially and two more later. The injured were admitted to Narasaraopet Government Hospital, with four in critical condition.
Bapatla SP Tushar Dudi visited the site and instructed teams to speed up operations and ensure accountability.
Government Reaction and Inquiry

3 अगस्त 2025 को आंध्र प्रदेश के बापटला जिले में एक बड़ा हादसा हुआ, जब सत्यकृष्ण ग्रेनाइट खदान में एक भारी चट्टान खिसक गई। हादसे के वक्त 16 मजदूर काम कर रहे थे। 6 की मौके पर ही मौत हो गई, और 10 लोग घायल हो गए, जिनमें से कई की हालत गंभीर बताई जा रही है।

मुख्यमंत्री एन. चंद्रबाबू नायडू ने घटना पर दुख जताया और अधिकारियों को तुरंत जांच के आदेश दिए। उन्होंने कहा कि सभी घायलों को बेहतर इलाज मिलना चाहिए और यह भी पता लगाया जाए कि दुर्घटना के पीछे क्या कारण रहे।

प्रारंभिक जानकारी के अनुसार, निम्नलिखित कारण सामने आ सकते हैं:
- खदान की ढलानों की सही निगरानी नहीं की गई
- विस्फोटन कार्यों में सावधानी नहीं बरती गई
- साइट पर प्रशिक्षित सुपरवाइज़र या मान्यता प्राप्त खनन अधिकारी नहीं थे
इनमें से कई बिंदु DGMS के दिशा-निर्देशों का उल्लंघन हो सकते हैं।
